My first post ever!!

This is my very first post ever! I have been wanting to blog for so long. The moment has finally arrived.  Sigh.... I'm kind of speechless right now. I don't really know what to say in my first entry....

I  look forward to sharing the great deals I get on most things I buy. I'm actually pretty proud when someone compliments me on my dress and I can say, "Thank you, I got it for $3.50 at Target. " Don't get me wrong, I'm very particular about what I wear and how I wear it. So needless to say I am a discriminating shopper. But , I do love the challenge of finding something really cheap. I love food, really good food , so I'll be sharing restaurant experiences and recipes. In 10 days we will be leaving the U.S. to visit Uruguay and Argentina for 4 months. Yes, 4 months!! I will have plenty to share in the coming months. I'll fill you in on all the details as we get closer.

  1. Hello neighbor... Cheryl here! :)

I look forward to following your adventures as you explore during these next months. I'll bet that new camera will get a huge workout, and we readers will have a blast as armchair travelers as a result.

After reading this, I wish we'd had more of a chance to chat right here, since I can see that in some ways--that insatiable love of bargains, chiefly--you're something of a younger version of me. I've always seen a "screaming deal" as a badge of honor, whether from a store, a garage/rummage/tag sale or a resale shop, and shake my head at folks who are oblivious to the joys of stretching a buck until it whimpers! :)
I have no doubt that I'll enjoy your thoughts tremendously, and learn plenty from you as well.

Interesting, too, that you decided to start a blog now, because we have than in common as well. I had toyed with it for years and finally, last month I took the plunge. UNlike you, though, I never got past my initial post, instead being sidetracked by distractions. I think you've inspired me to get back at it and see what develops...

Sisters from another mother! Who knew? ;)

Meanwhile, safe travels to you all. I'll watch your progress and adventures with interest, and do what I can to keep an eye on home base for you. Bon voyage!

  2. Your cats love it here. they are both so friendly they sleep on my bed or with gabe. Dolomite likes to sleep on the top bunk or under my bed or behind the couch. I give them fresh water everyday, clean out their litter box in the morning and when I get home from work. I pet them brush them and play with them everyday. Devina greets us at the front door everytime we get home. kittys miss you guys.

  3. Thanks for the update Ratana. So sorry wasn't able to touch base before we left. We had so much stuff to do just to get out ready for this trip. I was literally doing laundry minutes before we left.We were late going to the airport because I was waiting to put the clothes in the dryer. We didn't have power until the night before, that set us back on alot of things. I'm sorry I didn't get the vacuum to you.
